About Mr Youssef

Mr. Youssef is a consultant oncoplastic breast surgeon, meaning he specializes in both the surgical treatment of breast cancer and reconstructive procedures to restore the breast’s appearance.

He is based at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, where he is a consultant in the Department of Surgery.

Expertise – His areas of expertise include oncoplastic and reconstructive breast surgery, breast cancer surgery, breast reconstruction, therapeutic mammoplasty, breast augmentation, and breast reduction.

Training & Qualifications – He holds an MBBCh, MSc, and MD in Cancer Surgery, and FRCS and FEBS (Breast) fellowships from the Royal College of Surgeons of England and the European Board of Surgery respectively. He also holds an MBA from the UEA.

Special Interests – Mr. Youssef has a particular interest in pre-pectoral implant reconstruction and has led audits on patient-reported outcomes for this technique.

Patient-Centered Approach – He emphasizes a patient-centred approach, ensuring that surgical options are discussed and offered based on individual patient needs.

Other Procedures – He performs various breast surgical procedures, from simple lumpectomies to complex surgeries requiring significant tissue removal, including mastectomies with immediate or delayed reconstruction.

He is certified from the Royal College of Surgeons in cosmetic breast surgery including breast augmentation, reduction, uplift and symmetrising surgery.

He offers general surgical treatment such as open hernia repair and lumps removal.

Teaching & Research – Mr. Youssef is also involved in teaching and clinical research. He is an honorary Associate Professor at the University of East Anglia (UEA) and has more than 50 peer-reviewed publications and presentations nationally and internationally.

He is part of the ABS International committee and is a Mercy Ships alumni surgeon and is involved in multiple charity work and international development projects raising breast cancer awareness.
